In this week’s Throwback we reach back 20 years ago to what was then called the Trans World Dome in St. Louis. New Jersey-based racer Barry Carsten (34) nails the holeshot at the start of the AMA 125cc East Supercross event on his Bromley Suzuki RM125. RM125s must have been strong off the line with the first four riders in this shot on Suzukis. On the inside of Carsten is F&S Suzuki’s Tony Lorusso (37), while coming around the outside is Jim’s Motorcycle Sales Suzuki’s Jim Neese (85) and following closely behind is Doug DeHaan (204) on a TMR Suzuki.
Also visible in the shot are Jeff Dement (50), James Evans (98), Heath Voss (75), Brock Sellards (80), Erick Vallejo (277) and Jason Thomas (371).
Frenchman Stephane Roncada moved up after a poor start to take the victory on the Team Honda of Troy Honda CR125R over Greg Schnell and Brock Sellards.
