2017 KTM Adventure Rider Rally Vendor Bender | Billet Racing Products (BRP)

The 2017 KTM Adventure Rider Rally was held in Crested Butte, Colorado for the second time in three years. With nearly 500 attendees including a massive staff of KTM event planners, celebrity riders, world-class racers and helpful technicians, it was a popular destination to say the least. On top of that, nearly 30 vendors from the Adventure Motorcycling industry showcased their latest adventure motorcycle gear and services.
We had a quick chat with BRP’s Jim Rios inside their booth at the KTM Adventure Rider Rally to see why they made the trip, what kind of cool new stuff they have and what they think the KTM Adventure Rider Rally is all about.
What product is drawing the most interest from the attendees at the KTM Rally?
Jim Rios: Our rubber sub-mount is really hot this year. Everyone seems to want to put a Scotts stabilizer on his or her bikes and our rubber sub-mount caters to the stabilizer but also does a lot for vibration damping—it takes away a lot of that square edge impact, as well. It just makes the ride that much more comfortable.
We work really hard at trying to keep our clearances and tolerances really tight and we try to keep the stacking order of clamps, bars and stabilizer as tight as possible and it works really well.
We had a guy from California ride out here 1,500 miles to Crested Butte and he said, “I came here to see you because I can’t feel my thumbs anymore—I need your rubber mounted sub-mount.” So, he bought it and we installed it right here and he’s as happy as he can be now.
Why should riders consider attending the KTM Adventure Rider Rally?
Jim Rios: The people, the event and the location makes this a great place to reconnect with a wonderful community every year. It’s just fun. And you get to see some of the neatest and best products from all these companies. Some of these guys are bringing some of the most beautiful bikes you’ve ever seen, as well. It’s just an amazing place.CN
