Beta USA Release:
Beta USA has signed young Joe Wasson to their factory race team for the 2017 season. Wasson will compete aboard a factory-prepared Beta 480 RR Race Edition in the 2017 AMA National Hare & Hound as well as the West Coast Hare Scramble series. Wasson will work and train with Beta’s Rodney Smith to help the young racer reach his goals.
Many fans have not heard of the 23 year old from Idaho as he has only raced a motorcycle for two years during his adult life. Wasson raced motocross as a youngster with his family until he was 12. He then purchased a motorcycle in his early 20’s when his friends suggested he go enter a race. This advice led Wasson to a 250 Pro Hare & Hound championship in 2016 by winning every race except one.
Wasson was surprised by the call from Beta, “I’m excited to pick up the support from Beta USA after my first year following the National Hare and Hound series and taking 1st in the 250 Pro class . With the help from Beta I believe I can take my career to the top!”
Beta team manager Zack Huberty had this to say about Wasson, “I’m excited to take on Hare and Hound with Joe this year. He has an incredible story and is clearly a natural at racing. With our added support and the special 480 RR we are building him, I feel good things will come.”
