Ricky Brabec Wraps Up Hare & Hound Title: Ricky Brabec became a two-time AMA Hare & Hound Champion after taking the win at the final round of the 2016 Kenda/SRT AMA Hare & Hound National Championship in Lucerne Valley, California, October 23. Brabec only needed to finish eighth overall to seal the deal but did a lot better by winning the 100’s MC-hosted race. It was the fourth victory of the year for the Johnny Campbell Racing (JCR) Honda Team rider.

“I didn’t have to win, but when you sign up to race, you want to win,” he said.
Jacob Argubright, on the Rockstar Energy Factory Racing Off-Road Husqvarna, was Brabec’s closest rival going into the race. He was 17 points arrears Brabec and needed to win and have some really good luck to win his first title; he rode well, but second place wasn’t enough to knock Brabec off the top of the leaderboard. Argubright finished 17 second behind Brabec at the finish and took second in the championship. Brabec racked up a total 170 points to Argubright’s 148.
Third in the race went to Bonanza Plumbing/KTM rider Gary Sutherlin, while Justin Morgan (Rocky Mountain ATV-MC/Yamaha) and Joseph Wasson (Cycle City of Mountain Home/Yamaha) rounded out the top five overall.
Jeff Trulove topped the 250cc Pro class in 10th overall.
