Maverick Vinales (Ecstar Suzuki) has topped the timesheets for the fastest Friday time at the German MotoGP at the Saschenring, heading Ducati Team’s Andrea Iannone by 0.220 seconds.
Marc Marquez was the best of the main title contenders on the Repsol Honda, the Spaniard sitting a further 0.394 seconds off Iannone in third.
The day has so far been a disaster for the Movistar Yamaha team with Valentino Rossi finishing the session in 14th and Jorge Lorenzo suffering the ill effects of an FP1 crash to end Friday in a lackluster 16th place, 1.663 seconds behind Vinales.
Assen’s surprise winner Jack Miller (E-G Honda) was one place in front of Rossi in 13th, 1.3 seconds off Vinales.
