As the 2016 FIM Supersport World Championship second round began in Thailand Randy Krummenacher (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) went to the top of the first session timesheets with his final lap, a 1:39.933.

Thai rider Ratthapong Wilairot, on a locally-entered A.P. Honda Racing Thailand CBR, went fastest of all, with Honda rider PJ Jacobsen (Honda World Supersport) third fastest.
