Red Bull Factory KTM Team’s Jeffrey Herlings suffered yet another major setback in his young racing career. The oft-injured rider crashed during a qualification moto on Saturday, July 25, at the FIM World Championship round at Loket, Czech Republic. He was hit by another rider, suffering a dislocated hip. The injury will keep the current MX2 points leader off the bike for the rest of the season, according to the team’s MX2 Factory Team Manager Dirk Gruebel.

“It was a pretty tough weekend on everybody, especially Jeffrey,” Gruebel said. “He tried so hard to come back [from a previous injury] to race here. He gave everything, all he had and even more, and somehow he didn’t get the reward for it. In the qualifying, he hit a stone and lost it over the front, and he told me that from then on it just went bad. Another rider hit him, the hip is out and unfortunately that’s the end of the story for this season. Now he needs to get some rest, heal up and be ready for next year.”
