Black Hills Half Mile Rained Out

Cycle News Staff | August 5, 2014

Tonight’s Black Hills Half-Mile was cancelled due to rain in Rapid City, South Dakota, with heavy rainfall making it impossible to reschedule the race for tomorrow.

“The rainfall tonight was so heavy that it would be impossible to get the track ready for racing tomorrow even if there was to be perfect weather,” said Dan Johnsen, Director of AMA Pro Flat Track. “We caught some bad luck today, it’s very unfortunate but that’s really all it comes down to.”

The AMA Grand National Championship heads to Indianapolis, Indiana, on Friday night for the Indy Mile.
