Cycle News Staff | July 21, 2014

Round eight of the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship visited infamous Whoop Monster in Millville Minnesota. GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac took an impressive win, his first ever on a 450 and Jeremy Martin earned another win to extend his points lead.

Tomac chased down and passed Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen in the first moto to take the win. Roczen put up a great fight but ultimately backed off to settle for second. In moto two, Tomac took the holeshot and then withstood heavy pressure from Ryan Dungey. Dungey ended up tangling with a lapper and ending his hopes for a home state victory. Roczen got passed by Trey Cannard and finished third for the day.

Yamalube, Star Racing Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin took the home race win in the 250 Class with 1-2 moto scores. Cooper Webb won moto two but a crash in the first moto gave him a 9-1 and third overall for the day. Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin took second overall with 2-4 moto scores.
