Motocross: James Stewart To Skip Washougal National

James Stewart will not compete in tomorrow’s National MX at Washougal.

The Yoshimura Suzuki Team announced today, Friday, July 25, that James Stewart will not be participating in tomorrow’s Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Washougal MX Park in Washougal, Washington. The team cites health reasons for his withdrawal but did not reveal any specific information about his health issues.

Last week at the Millville National, Stewart fell in the first moto but came up through pack to finish out the race in seventh. After lining up for the second moto, Stewart retreated back to the pits saying that he felt dizzy.

Stewart is expected to return to action at the next round at Unadilla in New Berlin, New York, on August 9.

“It’s been a tough few weeks,” said Yoshimura Suzuki Team Manager Mike Webb. “Since James’ sweep at High Point we’ve been dealt a good bit of bad luck. Add to that his retirement from the second moto last week for health reasons, we feel it’s best to sit out Washougal. That will give us an extra weekend to rest up and get ready to come back strong at Unadilla.”

Stewart is currently fourth in the 450-class points standings. He is four points ahead of Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Brett Metcalfe and 76 points behind third place Trey Canard (Honda Muscle Milk).
