LEXINGTON, Ohio (July 19, 2014) – Series leader Jake Gagne headed up practice Saturday afternoon in preparation for today’s Daytona SportBike race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Gagne pushed his RoadRace Factory/Red Bull Yamaha R6 to a time of 1:30.944 on what is now an almost completely dry circuit.
The top four riders in DSB went faster than Josh Hayes’ Superbike time, an indication of how the track is improving.
Eslick and DiSalvo shared time in P1, but with five minutes to go in the session Gagne shot to the top being the first rider on the weekend to break into the 1:30 bracket with a 1:30.944. Eslick and DiSalvo ended the session in second and third respectively, with Garrett Gerloff fourth.
Due to rain this morning, the DSB race today will be gridded from points, putting Gagne on the pole.
