Brit Leon Camier will replace the injured Claudio Corti on the factory MV Agusta Reparto Corse team in this weekend’s World Superbike round at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the team announced this morning.

Corti suffered injury when he crashed out of the Superpole 1 session in Portugal on Saturday.

Camier has won British Championships in 125cc (2001), Supersport (2005) and Superbike (2009) and has since raced in the World Superbike Championship. In 2010-2011, Camier rode for the factory Aprilia team in World Superbike, finishing 12th and seventh in the championship. In 2012 and 2013, Camier raced for the factory Suzuki team and ended up 14th and 11th, respectively, in those two seasons. He was replaced on the Suzuki team at the end of last year by Eugene Laverty.

Camier started this year on the BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike team.
