Industry Racing To Honor Speedway Icons at Wednesday’s “Legends Night”

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. (June 10, 2014) – The 2014 season at Industry Racing is off to a flying start with great competition over the last two weeks. Tomorrow night, June 11, the track will celebrate the thrilling history of motorcycle speedway in the United States and honor the individuals that paved the way for the sport in this country on “Legends Night.” Tickets to attend tomorrow’s special event are a cost effective option for the whole family to enjoy an exciting night of racing and pay homage to the pioneers of speedway racing in America.

Adult general admission is just $10, while kids and seniors can get in for only $5! Additionally, in the spirit of the evening Industry Racing will give out official 2014 track pins to the first 500 guests at the front gate!

“Legends Night” will serve as a complement to the full slate of racing scheduled for Wednesday night. A total of 31 of the most prominent individuals in speedway history, both on and off the track, will be honored and celebrated for their contributions to one of the original forms of motorcycle racing. Starting at 7 p.m., all fans in attendance will have the chance to get autographs from these legends in the courtyard of The Grand Arena. A special group photo will be taken on the track at 8:30 p.m., putting this collection of icons together front and center for the Industry Racing crowd.

On track, First Division and Sidecar Division racing will highlight the action at the only fully AMA-sanctioned track in Southern California. Billy Janniro has grabbed the spotlight the last two weeks but he’ll miss the action at Industry Racing for the first time this season, leaving the door open for another rider to take the spotlight. Veterans Billy Hamill and Charlie Venegas have shown tremendous speed thus far, while Max Ruml would like nothing more than to defeat is more experienced rivals.

 “This will be one of the most exciting nights of the season with so many legends on hand to watch the incredible racing on the track,” said track director Kelly Inman. “We’re always honored to be able to celebrate the history of the sport and I know everyone is looking forward to a great evening on Wednesday.”

The racing lineup at Industry Racing on Wednesday will also feature Second and Third Division competition, in addition to junior racing with the 250 Division, Mini 150 First and Second Divisions, as well as the Pee Wee Division.

A total of 10 weeks remain in the 2014 season at Industry Racing, with marquee events like the AMA National and the second annual AMA/FIM Youth Silver Cup Championship looming ahead this summer.
