Top American off-road racers Taylor Robert and Kyle Redmond are already in Austria preparing to compete in the infamous Erzberg Rodeo Extreme Enduro. The event takes place on this week, May 29 – June 1.

For Redmond, this will be his fifth time competing in the event many call the toughest single day Extreme Enduro and he has finished as high as fifth, the best result to date for an American. Redmond will be competing on a Christini All Wheel Drive 300 two-stroke. “I have not been to Erzberg for a few years and I am not sure how the race and riders have evolved. But I am feeling strong on the bike and expect to be top five like I’ve done before” Redmond said.

FMF KTM’s Taylor Robert will be competing in his first ever Erzberg Rodeo. The former WORCS Champion and top EnduroCross racer has won the Last Dog Standing twice and finished second at last year’s Tennessee Knockout and this year’s King of the Motos so he has experience at some of the toughest North American Extreme off-road events. “I have always wanted to do Erzberg and now that I am part of the FMF KTM team and became a Red Bull athlete, it all came together for me to go,” Robert said. “A lot of really strong riders have an advantage of doing this event for several years but I think a top five is a realistic goal for me. But I really want to complete all of the sections and learn what it takes to improve from there for future years.”

The Erzberg Rodeo is a four-day festival that starts with 1,500 riders competing in a short “Prolog” to earn one of the 500 spots in the Red Bull Hare Scramble. The Hare Scramble includes several nearly impossible hill climbs in the active iron mining area and typically fewer than 20 of those 500 riders complete the course within the four-hour time limit. Great Britain’s Graham Jarvis is the defending champion of the event and fellow Brit Jonny Walker won the event in 2012. So they will be among the favorites.
