RIDGECREST, CA, MAY 11 – Kawasaki rider and defending WORCS Champion Robby Bell nabbed his first win of the year at the Ridgecrest, California, round of the Rocky Mountain MC/ATV World Off-Roach Championship Series, May 11. The win put an end to the four-race win streak formerly held by KTM rider Gary Sutherlin.

Bell worked his way into the lead by the third lap of the race and from that point on never looked back. He opened up a comfortable lead over Sutherlin on a fast course that he said suited his style. Very strong winds in the high desert was also a factor in this one.

The win keeps Bell in the championship hunt, but Sutherlin still enjoys a comfortable points lead over Bell.

Third overall went to Justin Seeds who finished out the day on the podium for the second straight time. Seeds struggled a bit with a sore shoulder but held on for another strong finish.

KTM rider Justin Jones held six for much of the race but gained a few positions late in the race to finish fourth, just ahead of Eric Yorba (KTM).

Bobby Bonds was running up front for a while, but the broken tailbone that he suffered earlier in the season came back to haunt him and the pain forced him to withdraw after the halfway point.

KTM rider Travis Coy topped Husqvarna’s Justin Morgan to win the Pro 2 division, while Yamaha pilot Michael Del Fante won the Pro 2 Lites division over Jesse Lundin (Yamaha)
