Industry Hills will open its speedway season tonight in Southern California.

The 2014 speedway season at Industry Racing kicks off tonight with a full slate of competition at the only AMA-sanctioned speedway facility in Southern California, with Billy Hamill and Billy Janniro set to renew their rivalry.

The list of accomplishments for both men is immense and their battle to be the best speedway rider in the U.S. has gone on for years. Additionally, with Hamill calling Southern California home and Janniro laying claim to Northern California, this rivalry is the ultimate regional battle. Appearances by Janniro down south are few and far between, but Industry Speedway track director Kelly Inman has said that may change for the 2014 season as Janniro has a vested interest in becoming a regular presence at Industry Racing.

“Billy [Janniro] wants to race down here more and we’re excited to welcome him for opening night,” said Inman. “We’ll expect at select races throughout the season and it will be great for all the fans to have the chance to see he and Billy Hamill do battle consistently this year.”

In addition to the Pro-Am division tomorrow night, a total of eight classes boasting a collection of 65 riders will do battle at Industry Racing, including the always popular Junior and Pee-Wee divisions, as well as wild Sidecar racing.

“We’ve had a full slate of competitors for over two weeks now, which is awesome,” added Inman. “The new AMA sanctioning is huge for Industry Racing and puts us at the forefront of not just Southern California, but throughout the country. Our entries are already up as a result and it looks like we’ll be in for one of the best seasons ever at Industry Racing.”

Tickets can be purchased online and at the Industry Racing Box Office which opens at 5 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. while on-track action gets started at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for children and seniors and $10 for adults.

The 2014 season at Industry Racing will consist of 12 weeks of racing throughout the summer with all events except the AMA National on August 9 scheduled for Wednesday nights. The AMA National is the highlight of the schedule and will also feature the second annual AMA/FIM Youth Silver Cup Championship. The season will come to a conclusion on August 27 with the 2014 California State Speedway Championship.
