Josh Hill says he is hoping to be cleared to ride this weekend in San Diego. The RCH Soaring Eagle Suzuki rider went down in his heat race at the Oakland round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series and broke his collarbone, forcing him to sit out part of the series.

“I’ll be back before you even notice I’m gone,” Hill said, who had surgery last week to repair the damage. “I was bummed I had to sit out the third Anaheim, but I’m amazed with the pace of my recovery. I’m going to take it day by day, but I expect to be back on the gate much sooner than we all anticipated. This is what we all love… It hurts not being out there. Nothing to do but keep making strides.”

Over the past two years, Hill has been in the process of an amazing comeback from devastating injuries he suffered during a crash while preparing for X-Games where he shattered his right femur, pelvis, and humerus while attempting an 80-foot backflip.

Hill’s best finish this year is a 13th at Anaheim II.
