Pelion, South, Carolina (March 1, 2014) – After 24 years of racing a two-stroke, Russell Bobbitt will be making his debut ride on a four-stroke in national enduro competition at this weekend’s opening round of the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series in Pelion, South Carolina.

During the off-season, Bobbitt switched from the Husaberg factory team to Team Husqvarna for the 2014 season and after riding all the marquee’s off-road models, Bobbitt decided on the FE350 four-stroke for enduro competition.

“We were kind of late getting our bikes, but I feel like I needed a change and the four-stroke seemed like the right choice,” said Bobbitt. “I think it’s actually smoothed out my riding and it seems to have eliminated all of the little issues I have when I’m on the two-stroke, the little things I’m picky about.”

“I’ve only been on the bike for a little over a week, but I feel at home on the four-stoke and I think I’m ready for Sunday,” added Bobbitt. “I don’t think I ride the four-stroke any differently than I ride a two-stroke, so I guess we’ll see how things work out this weekend.”

Bobbitt has a good history at the South Carolina rider, winning the overall the event in 2011. However, the four-time series champ will be facing a lot of competition, including KTM’s Stu Baylor, who won this race in 2012 en route to the 2012 title.

Two-time series champ Charlie Mullins will be a force to consider, as well, and should fare well on his KTM 350 XCF, as will his FMF/KTM teammate Mike Lafferty, who is making his farewell tour this year after announcing his retirement during the off-season.
