Bobby Bonds captured the overall win at the Dirt Diggers Motorcycle Club’s 12th Annual Taft Grand Prix at Honolulu Hills Raceway in Taft, California, February 1-2. The event, which was also the opening round of the AMA West Coast Grand Prix Championship/AMA District 37/GPR Big 6 Grand Prix Series, saw Bonds get some satisfaction after having a certain win pulled out from under him because of a mechanical issue at the same venue a few weeks ago for the opening round of the WORCS Championship. But at the Taft GP, Bonds had much better success.

The R&D Motorsports/Maxxis/Fly Racing-backed rider took the lead from Eric Yorba after the first lap kept his Kawasaki KX450F there all the way to the finish in the 90-minute race.

Yorba, on the FMF/RPM Racing/Bonanza Plumbing KTM ended up second, followed by Justin Seeds, on the Precision Concepts/Zip-Ty Racing/Maxxis Kawasaki.

Elizabeth Bash, on the MotorycleSuperstor.com/Decal Works/Fly Racing Yamaha YZ250F claimed the Women’s Expert win, followed by Honda rider Nicole Madsen and Tatum Sik.
