Motorcycle Superstore Dominates Podiums

Press Release | February 18, 2014

The following is from Motorcycle Superstore…

MEDFORD, OR (February 18, 2014) – You know the old saying… It’s a Win, Win situation and, for the Motorcycle Superstore/Bell helmet support riders, that’s exactly what they have been doing the past two race weekends.

WORCS – Round 2, Primm, NV

Gary Sutherlin is on a winning roll, claiming his second straight overall finish in the World Off-Road Championship Series. “This was a great race for me. I battled early with (Justin) Jones, banging bars at time, and eventually pulling out the lead. We’re two-for-two so far and I’m looking forward to Round 3 at Lake Havasu.”

Honorable mentions go out to FMF/RPM/KTM Racing’s Justin Jones and Eric Yorba who finished 3rd and 4th overall in the Pro Class and Travis Coy, who finished 2nd in the Pro 2 Class.

AMA National Hare & Hound –

Red Mountain, CA

Rily Ellinger served notice in the California desert by besting the field of women racers, taking first overall after a back-and-forth battle with defending class champion Maggie Pearson. “I am so happy to come away with the win today, it was a great course, especially the rocky sections… I love giving back to my sponsors.”

TWMX – Cahuilla Creek, CA

Round 5 of the Muscle Milk Trans World Motocross Winter Series proved to be another successful round for FMF/RPM/KTM Racing’s Justin Jones as he once again took the overall win in the 450 Pro Class by winning both motos. “I had a really fun race today. In the first moto I led from start to finish but not such a great start in the second moto so I was happy to charge back to first place.”

AMA West Hare Scrambles Championship Series

Continuing his winning ways, Jacob Argubright took his second overall win in AMA West Hare Scrambles Championship Series aboard his Factory Husqvarna. “This was a tough day, they jumped the gun on the start and no one was ready to go and I was pretty far in the back of the pack. But I worked my way up and stayed consistent for the win! My Husky ran and handled great all day.”

SORCS Cross Country Series

Maxxis/KLIM/DirtWise/KTM team racers Rory Mead and Jason Thomas both celebrated podium finishes with first and third place finishes at Round 4 of the SORCS Cross Country series, held at Perry, GA on Sunday, February 16. Having just returned to the US from his native New Zealand, Mead was feeling good about the outcome of his first race for 2014, saying “the first few laps I felt a little sluggish due to some lingering jet lag but felt better the final half of the race and just rode a steady pace, which was enough to stay up front and snag the win. I’m really focused now on being fully prepared to go win this year’s XC2 Championship at the GNCC.”

MRANN Series – Round 1

The FMF/RPM/KTM Racing team is obviously off to a great start in 2014 and part of the reason is their young superstar Ty Tremaine. The local Nevadian put his KTM on top the Four-Stroke Pro Class podium. “Like everyone else, I was coming off a bout with the flu, but the more I rode the better I felt and was able to pull off the class win.”

Monster Energy Supercross Series

Motorcycle Superstore/Bell Helmet and factory Yamaha/Toyota/JGRMX pilot, Justin Brayton, is still running strong in the series. Two solid fifth place finishes at both San Diego and Dallas has kept Justin in the chase and fifth overall in the points.

What’s Up Next…

Supercross goes under the dome in Atlanta, GA which is always the largest fan turnout of the season. The Off-Road races on the West Coast have a break until March 2, when the Big 6 and Hare Scrambles series return. March 2 is also the opening round of the AMA Enduro Series in Pelion, SC where several of our Motorcycle-Superstore/Bell Helmet support riders will start their season. After that, we move on to Florida and Daytona Bike Week where (all you know what) breaks lose! GNCC, Ricky Carmichael Amateur SX, AMA Pro Flat Track, AMA Pro Road Race and more… Stay tuned!
