KTM rider Gary Sutherlin took top honors at the Rocky Mountain MC World Off-Road Championship Series Presented By Motoworks and Dirt Bike Magazine in Primm, Nevada, February 9. It was Sutherlin’s second win in the two-race old 2014 Championship.

Sutherlin was chasing leader Bobby Bonds late in the race when Bonds fell and injured his knee, preventing him from finishing. It was the second time in a row that a sure WORCS win was pulled out from under him (last time, in Taft, California, Bonds was slowed by a mechanical issue).

Second in the race went to defending champ Robby Bell who came from behind on his Kawasaki. He moved up a spot from his opening round third, which, this time, went to last round’s second-place finisher Justin Jones (KTM). For the second race in a row, Sutherlin, Bell and Jones made up the WORCS podium.

Eric Yorba (KTM) and Justin Seeds (Kawasaki) rounded out the top five overall.

Steven Gibson (Kawasaki) topped the Pro 2 class, while Michael Del Fante (Yamaha) won the Pro 2 Lites division.

Kawasaki rider Brandy Richards topped the Women’s Pro class over Tatum Sik (Honda) and Britney Gallegos (KTM).
