Toyota/Yamaha/N-Fab/JGRMX Team’s Josh Grant will undergo an MRI tomorrow on the shoulder he injured yesterday at the Phoenix Supercross. Grant fell during practice and did not participate in the evening’s program, though he did partake in the opening ceremonies, when he officially decided the shoulder wasn’t up to the pounding and withdrew for the night. Grant returned to the pits after opening ceremonies saying he had trouble holding on to the handlebars.

The team is hoping that initial reports come true, that he “just” pulled a muscle in the shoulder, which created a fair amount of swelling and a pinched nerve, but the MRI tomorrow should reveal if there is anything more than that.

According to JGRMX race-team manager Jeremy Albrecht, they are going to bring its hired stand-in rider, Phil Nicoletti, with them to next weekend’s Anaheim II Supercross “just in case Grant can’t ride.”
