Anaheim, California, (January, 3, 2014) – With Davi Millsaps on the mend due to a knee injury, Rockstar Energy Racing KTM is hoping that 2005 125cc AMA Supercross champion and former Honda factory rider Ivan Tedesco can carry the load until Millsaps returns, hopefully at mid-season. Rockstar Energy Racing KTM team manager Dave Gowland is counting on Tedesco to help develop the team’s settings, as well.

“It was pretty evident after Davi’s crash that we needed to get someone on the bike and Roger DeCoster had done some testing with Ivan about three week’s prior to Davey’s accident and he was pretty valuable to them. So since he had already spent some time on the bike we thought it would be a smart move,” said Gowland.

According to Gowland, Tedesco is signed for the full Supercross series and then they will evaluate. “We’ll see how it goes,” said Gowland. “He might become our test rider, and that way he’s available for the outdoors incase something happens. He’s been a big help and we didn’t want anything to stop once Davey returns, since we’re working with a new bike and new suspension. We didn’t want to lose any traction from a development standpoint.”

As for Millsaps, Gowland says he will definitely be back for the Supercross season at some point. “Right now, he’s in rehab and working with the knee,” said Gowland. “If all the stars align and everything goes okay, I’d like to see him back by his hometown race in Atlanta.”
