(Gainesville, Fl, Nov. 29) After first-moto heats and qualifying on Thursday, followed up by a turkey dinner later that evening, Friday afternoon gave way to the second-moto finals at the Thor Winter Olympics at Gatorback Cycle Park near Gainesville, Florida, November 29.

Amsoil/Factory Connection Honda’s RJ Hampshire took the first championship of the day by winning the 250 A second-moto final. Hampshire grabbed the holeshot and checked out to an eight-second lead at the finish over Horton Racing Yamaha’s Luke Renzland and Team Green Kawasaki’s Nick Gaines, who started the race in second. The win marked Hampshire’s third title of the week and he still has three races remaining.

Also capturing his third title of the week was Triangle Cycles Yamaha’s Keith Tucker (pictured front page) who took the win in 250 B Limited with a last-lap pass on uprising star Jerry Robin, who led most of the race. Tucker has been a bit of a surprise with his dominant riding this week and is looking to capture three more before the day ends Saturday.

Team Green Kawasaki’s Garrett Marchbanks took an uncontested win in the 85 Limited class over KTM/Seven’s Jalek Swoll and Cernic Suzuki’s Jarrett Frye. The win marked Marchbanks third title this week as well.

Two-time World Champion Trampas Parker took the win in the 45+ class over Michigan’s John Grewe and New Jersey’s Barry Carsten.

Parker later said, “This never gets old, we’re all having so much fun out here.”
