Following a CDI hearing in Switzerland on July 16, the appeal filed by Sylvain Guintoli and Aprilia after the second race of the Monza round of the World Superbike Championship (in which the Frenchman claimed that Tom Sykes had cut the chicane) has been rejected.

Sykes will keep his third place finish with Guintoli finishing fourth.

“The CDI noted that there was no infringement of the FIM Superbike Regulations by the Rider Tom Sykes when he left the track at the entry to the “La Roggia” chicane as he used the route indicated and returned to the track at the prescribed spot.”

Sykes leads the World Championship by a single point going into this weekend’s round in Turkey.
