Ryan Villopoto

(New Berlin, New York; August 10, 2013) – Ryan Villopoto led every lap of both motos en route to a dominating performance and a 1-1 sweep at Unadilla Raceway in New Berlin, New York, round 10 of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

The win was the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider’s fifth overall victory of the season and he secured his 13th and 14th moto wins in the process. Villopoto goes into next week’s race in Salt Lake City with a 44-point lead over Dungey in the championship chase. There is also the outside chance that the Kawasaki rider will wrap up the title since there are only two rounds remaining.

Second overall went to Team Muscle Milk Honda’s Justin Barcia, who went 4-2 on the day. Meanwhile, Ryan Dungey rounded out the podium with a 2-4 performance, the Red Bull KTM rider finishing just behind Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jake Weimer in moto two after the two riders spent most of the moto battling.

Weimer finished fourth overall with 9-3 moto finishes, while JGRMX/Toyota Yamaha’s Josh Ground rounded out the top five after finishing fifth in each of the two motos.
