Three in a Row for Rapp

A broken zipper on his leathers nearly kept Steve Rapp out of the race. Fortunately Suburban Harley-Davidson teammate Brice Cooper had an extra set of leathers and Rapp quickly changed right on pit road and barely made the start of the race.

In spite of missing the warm-up lap, Rapp was able to get up to the lead by lap five. Early leader Travis Wyman fought back and took back first with three laps to go, but in the end Rapp was in the right place at the right time on the final lap and was able to hold on to score his third straight victory of the season. For Wyman second marked his best result of the season.

Tyler O’Hara was triumphant in a great three-way battle for the final podium with Benjamin Carlson and Michael Barnes. Just 4-10ths of a second separated the trio at the line, and it was O’Hara getting the nod.

Rapp leads Barnes in the points, which will reset before the Indy doubleheader where the top 10 will all start fresh and have a four-race chase for the series championship.
