World Superbike At Laguna To Include AMA

Cycle News Staff | June 26, 2013

There was a rumor making the rounds at the Barber round of the AMA Superbike Series last weekend that the World Superbike round scheduled for September 27-29 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca would feature the World Supersport Series as its support class and not the AMA package. Not true says racetrack CEO/general manager Gill Campbell.

“There is no truth to that in any way,” Campbell said from her office this morning. “We have three classes of AMA scheduled – Harleys, Superbike and Supersport.”

The last time World Superbike visited Laguna Seca was in July of 2004.

First up on Laguna’s plate is the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, scheduled for July 19-21.
