Zach Bell says he’ll sit out the rest of the 2013 Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship because of his lingering shoulder injury.

The GEICO Honda riders injured the shoulder at the Toronto Supercross earlier this year and sat out the rest of the series to heal up for the outdoor Nationals. He competed at the Hangtown opener but the shoulder was still giving him problems. It turns out the injury was more damaged than first thought and he’ll undergo surgery on the 14th of this month.

Bell, who made his professional debut last year at the end of the outdoor series but has been knocked down by injuries ever since, says that it will take at least four months of recovery time.
