Massive Start Crash in Road America SuperSport Race

Update from AMA Pro Racing: Corey Alexander not involved in accident.

There was a massive pileup crash at the start of the SuperSport race Sunday morning at Road America. As many as eight riders went down in the crash that started about 100 yards beyond the starting line. It appeared from photos that Ricardo Valdez got out of shape near the front of the setting off a chain reaction.

AMA Pro Racing officials reported Corey Alexander, Tyler Linders, Hayden Gillim, Ricardo Valdez, Caroline Olsen, Roi Holster, Shawn Hill and Alex Shaw were the riders who went down in the crash.

No official word yet on the condition of the riders involved.

The race is postponed to the end of the day.
