The Lima Half-Mile National slated for tonight, has been postponed to tomorrow due to rain.

At around 4:30 p.m. local time AMA officials announced racing will start at 10 a.m. tomorrow with practice and the main program is slated to start at 1:00 p.m.

The forecast for Sunday in Lima calls for a 50 percent chance of rain.

Riders who won’t be too upset if they are unable to get in the race tomorrow include defending AMA Grand National champ Jared Mees and current series points leader Brandon Robinson. Mees is nursing a broken arm and is going to miss at least this week’s race at Lima and next week’s Grand National at Hagerstown.

“I feel bad for all the other racers, but a rainout for this weekend and next wouldn’t bother me too much,” Mees said.

Robinson, who leads the championship by seven points over Brad Baker after three rounds, freely admits that Lima is not one of his stronger tracks.  “I won the Basic Expert race here in ’08 and haven’t done much of anything here since,” Robinson said.

Lima is the fourth round of the AMA Grand National Championship. Sammy Halbert is the defending winner of the race.
