Russell Bobbitt and his FMF Factory Husaberg captured another OMA Nationals victory, his second so far this year, at the Sidi Boots Moonshine XC, round two of the 2013 OMA National Series, in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, March 31.

Bobbitt captured the FMF Holeshot Award money and then steadily drew himself away from the pack. While conditions were far from optimal due to overnight rain on a course that was already saturated from rain earlier in the week, Bobbitt kept his Cyclenano-backed Husaberg moving forward and pretty much upright the whole way, amassing a gap of just over three minutes over the second-place rider, Moose Racing/Airgroup Radiant Racing Husaberg’s Nick Fahringer.

Defending OMA Champion Paul Whibley, nursing a sore left hand and thankful for his Rekluse clutch, rounded out the podium with his Am-Pro Kenda Tires Factory Connection Yamaha.

“I was pumped to get the holeshot,” Bobbitt said, “because it was just going to be a mess anywhere behind the leader. It was a solid day. We set the bike up right and it’s working really well. I just rode smooth and, you know, put in a consistent day. I minimized mistakes and just tried to keep going. I think I fell down on the last lap once and got stuck briefly one other time. I was pretty smart on my line choices and I figured out which holes I needed to avoid.”

Kailub Russell struggled keeping the bike upright,  finishing one lap down in fourth place aboard his FMF Motosport.com KTM after what he called was a”tough day.”

Adam Bonneur and his FMF Fly Racing Sidi Boots Kawasaki rounds out the top five riders in the Pro class.
