Track Day Suspension Tuning Seminar

Press Release | March 8, 2013

This from Race Tech…

For decades Paul Thede has been sharing his wealth of suspension knowledge and experience through his Race Tech Technical Edge Suspension Seminars. As the owner of Race Tech, the World’s largest aftermarket suspension modification company; for nearly 30 years, one could certaintly argue Thede has seen it all. A couple of times each year, Thede opens Race Tech’s doors to aspiring suspension tuners, engineers, mechanics, and parents from around the World to teach the ins-and-outs of suspension.

Much like the products produced by Race Tech; the format of the Technical Edge Suspension Seminars continues to improve and evolve. Based on popular demand, Thede has added a “Track Day Class” to the seminar schedule. Students will head to the track with Race Tech’s Head of Research and Development, Rob Brown and learn the techniques and processes Race Tech uses to test and tune products and settings. The “Track Day Class” has been combined with the former “Kinelogix” class that focuses on using Data Acquisition.

“Feedback from our Technical Edge Seminar alumni requested additional knowledge to be shared about Race Tech’s testing and tuning processes, so Paul (Thede) and Rob (Brown) came up with the concept of the Track Day Class. It is no secret that Rob is becoming as well known in the industry for his testing and tuning knowledge as Paul has been for so many years for his engineering and technical savvy. Those attending the seminar are going to get to work alongside and have access to both pieces of the puzzle, and that is extremely valuable.” said Race Tech’s Director of Marketing Chris Riesenberg.

The Track Day Class will cover the following subjects:

– Clicker changes and their effects

– Geometry changes and their effects

– Common scenarios and solving common issues

– How to remove and install suspension during test sessions

– Interacting with test riders and gathering accurate feedback

The Kinelogix portion of the class will allow you to analyze:

– Lap and sector times

– Top speed, corner speed, acceleration and braking

– Throttle roll-on, braking and smoothness

– Rider effect on vehicle handling characteristic

The Track Day Class is on Wednesday, May 1st in Corona, CA at Race Tech’s Headquarters. Tuition is $250 and there is no prerequisite.
