Red Bull’s Kendall Norman backed up his round-one victory with another at round two of the AMA Hare & Hound National Championship. This one came at the Four Aces Motorcycle Club’s 63rd Annual Moose Run at the Spangler Hills Off-Highway Vehicle Area outside of Ridgecrest, California, February 10.

The Honda-mounted rider had to work harder for this one, as Kurt Caselli of the FMF/KTM Factory Off-Road Racing Team slipped immediately into Norman’s slipstream off the start and stayed within a few seconds for both loops of 88-mile course.

But Norman never made a mistake that Caselli could take advantage of, so the two-time and defending series champ had to settle for a close runner-up.

The leading pair’s battle carried them well clear of the eventual third-placer, Nick Burson of the Purvines Racing Beta team. Unlike the first two, Burson had to come back from a poor start, but he managed to make his passes and get on the podium.

Johnny Campbell Racing Honda-supported David Kamo finished fourth, while Burson’s teammate, T.J. Hannafin, rounded out the top five, his fifth place matching his round one result as he continues to learn SoCal desert racing.
