Kyle Chisholm will replace Josh Grant on the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX team beginning on Saturday at the Atlanta Supercross as Grant continues to recover from a broken shoulder that will require surgery to repair.
Grant suffered a broken ankle and shoulder contusion at Anaheim III and attempted to ride the following two rounds, but wasn’t able to because of the pain. Upon re-evaluation by his doctors, it was diagnosed that he will require surgery. Grant will return to the team when he is fully recovered, the team says.
“Josh showed a ton of heart trying to ride through this shoulder injury, not to mention his ankle,” said team owner Coy Gibbs. “His health is the main concern, he should be 100 percent for the outdoors. In the meantime we are excited to have Kyle come on board. He was available and already familiar with the Yamaha so it’s a perfect fit.”
Chisholm will join Justin Brayton at the Georgia Dome this weekend.
“I am really excited,” Chisholm said. “I can’t thank Jeremy [Albrecht], Coy [Gibbs] and the whole JGRMX team enough for giving me this opportunity. I can’t wait to get on the bike, get out there and do my best. I also want to wish Josh [Grant] all the best on his recovery.”
