Remembering Cal Rayborn

Cal Rayborn

The legendary Cal Rayborn was killed 39 years ago today, the native San Diegan passing away after crashing a Suzuki at the Pukekohe Park Raceway in New Zealand. He was 33 years old at the time of his death.

In addition to being a top-level dirt tracker and carrying National Number 14, Rayborn was a two-time Daytona 200 winner and a land-speed record holder. He also won three of six races at the Trans-Atlantic Match races in 1972 in England on a Harley-Davidson XR750.
