Ramirez All The Way At Tecate Hare Scrambles

For the first time, Mexico’s own Ivan Ramirez captured the overall win at the Los Ancianos M.C.’s Tecate Hare Scrambles, in Tecate, B.C. Mexico, December 1.

The Red Bull/FMF KTM rider got off to a fast start, capturing the DP Racing/Desomond McDonald $300 Holeshot Award, and led the whole race. But he could never relax.

Kawasaki rider Bobby Garrison kept Ramirez on his toes the entire race, taking second overall. The two were never separated by more than about 15 seconds.

For winning, Ramirez was awarded the $1,000 Malcolm Smith/KTM Pro Challenge Award prize money.

Third went to Yamaha rider Gary Sutherlin, followed by Honda rider Brando Prieto.

Fifth overall went to Ironman winner Justin Morgan. The Yamaha rider held off Kawasaki pilot Larry Roeseler, who took second in class and 11th overall.

KTM rider Eric Yorba was the top A-class rider in seventh, while Yamaha rider Ty Davis finished eighth as top 40+ rider.
