PJ Jacobsen’s late season surge in the British Superstock 1000 championship has earned him a promotion to the Tyco Suzuki British Superbike team for 2013.

Riding an abbreviated season, the New Yorker finished the final three Superstock 1000 races with a win and two very close seconds; one was by .105 of a second, the other by .059 of a second. He’d made his debut with Tyco Suzuki in the Assen round of the Supersport championship, finishing a hotly contested ninth. When Alistair Seeley decided to move to British Supersport next year, it opened up a seat on the Superbike team for Jacobsen. He’ll join 2012 BSB Superbike runner-up Josh Brookes of Australia.

“It’s a dream come true to ride for Tyco Suzuki in BSB and especially to announce it today,” he said of the Thanksgiving Day announcement. “The team gave me an opportunity in British Superstock and Supersport and put my career on the map. I just can’t wait to get out there now and test the Superbike, and I know my team-mate Josh will help me a lot. The championship is one of the best in the world; the riders are always battling and that is cool, I am looking forward to being a part of it. I’d like to thank team boss Philip Neill and Phil Dashey from Tyco for their support.”
