Muzzy Kawasaki’s Doug Chandler won the 1990 AMA Superbike National held on the streets of Miami in what was called the Grand Prix of Miami. Chandler beat Scott Russell and Randy Renfrow to win the only AMA race ever held in downtown Miami. With his four victories, Chandler went on to win the AMA Superbike title that year over Renfrow with Russell finishing third. Renfrow won the season finale at Willow Springs – the late Virginian’s only AMA Superbike victory.
