With one stop on the schedule left to go, two titles have already been decided in the 2012 World Enduro Championship. In Finland, September 1-2, both Red Bull KTM’s Christophe Nambotin and Antoine Meo, both of France, clinched the E3- and E1-class championships. Nambotin claimed the E3 title on the KTM 300 EXC two-stroke, and Meo the E1 title on the KTM 250 EXC-F four-stroke.

Nambotin clinched the E3 title on Saturday after winning the class. He topped Sweden’s Joakim Ljunggren (Husaberg), Estonia’s Aigar Leok (TM) and Spain’s Oriol Mena (Husaberg).

On Sunday, Leok to the win, followed by Nambotin, Ljunggren and Finland’s Marko Tarkkala (Beta). Mena was fifth.

After winning the E1 class on Saturday, Meo finished second to Italy’s Simone Albergoni (HM-Honda) but that was more than enough to seal the deal in the E1 division.

The E2 class title is still up for grabs, but France’s Pierre-Alexandre Renet put himself in good position to win the title after topping both days over Spain’s Cristobal Guerrero (KTM) and Finland’s own Juha Salminen (Husqvarna).

With one round to go, Renet leads Guerrero by 11 points and Salminen by 24 points.

David Knight DNF’ed both days after taking a handlebar to the stomach on Saturday. He was forced to spend the night in the hospital for tests. Knight will be okay and is expected to compete in the final round in France.
