Aaron Yates To Race At Miami
Aaron Yates will be back in the AMA Superbike Series at the next round at Homestead-Miami Raceway when he throws his leg over the EvanSteelPerformance.com/Iron Horse BMW.
Yates rode as a wild card entry at the Red Bull Indy Grand Prix, but hasn’t raced in the AMA Superbike class since suffering a badly broken leg at California Speedway in Fontana, California, in March of 2010.
Yates recently tested the team’s S1000 RR in a three-day test.
“I went and met the ESP guys, and rode the BMW for the first time, and I really liked it,” Yates said in a team release. “I think the S1000 RR is a great bike, and a great package to go racing with, especially with the rule changes for electronics coming next year. The bike had a good feel to it, and I am really looking forward to being in the AMA Pro paddock again.”
Steel and crew are excited to have Yates in the fold.
“We are all pretty excited to have Aaron riding our bike, he is an incredible rider,” Steel said. “It was a great experience for our team to go testing with him, and I can’t wait to go racing. I have to thank the people who really helped make this test happen: Dave at U.S.Mega-max.com, John at Iron Horse BMW, Josh at Speedcell, Tyler at XCEL Trackdays, and Roger at ASMA.”
