Casey Stoner Undergoes Surgery

MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner underwent successful surgery on his right ankle today at the North Short Private Hospital in Sydney, Australia with doctors repairing the damage suffered during his qualifying crash at Indianapolis Motor Speedway some 12 days ago.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Peter Lam’s team at the Sydney hospital with Lam happy with how the operation went. Stoner has returned to his home to recuperate, according to his Repsol Honda team.

“Operation went as well as can be expected, all the staff were great also,” Stoner wrote on his Twitter feed this morning. “Now we just have to wait and see how I recover.”
