MotoGP: Rookie Rule No More?

The controversial Rookies Rule in MotoGP is likely to be scrapped, after Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta announced that he had reversed his opposition in a televised interview on Dorna’s official website, MotoGP.com, on race morning at the British Grand Prix.

This is a complete turnaround by Ezpeleta, who earlier this season was adamant that the rule would not change.

This was in response to a request, understood to have come from HRC, that the rule be rescinded so that Marc Marquez could move directly into the factory Repsol Honda MotoGP team next year.
