Australian Robbie Maddison suffered a compound fracture of his tibia and fibula during practice for tonight’s Moto X Speed & Style at the X Games in Los Angeles, California, according to XGamescom, the official website for the games. Maddison suffered the injury while practicing in the whoop section on the speed course.
He was transported to a local hospital and no other details on his condition were immediately available.
Maddison missed last year’s X Games with a compressed vertebrae in his lower back and he missed the 2007 and 2009 X Games with a broken leg and dislocated shoulder, respectively.
Javier Villegas will take Maddison’s place in the Speed & Style field, according to Xgames.com.
