Maxxis Delong, Robinson on Mammoth GNCC XC2 Podium

Press Release | May 2, 2012

The following is from Maxxis…

Andrew Delong and Jesse Robinson took second and third places in XC2 Pro Lites at Round 5 of the GNCC’s motorcycle series. The race was held April 29 in Park City, Kentucky. Delong ran Maxxcross SI front and rear tires, while Robinson chose an SI rear and an EN front for the rough conditions offered up by the brand new track.

Along with another rider, Delong and Robinson were locked in a tight battle for the lead throughout the race. “I had a good day today,” said FAR Husqvarna rider Delong. “I pushed to the front and wanted the win bad today. I am not 100% yet, but I am getting close. It was fun to battle with those guys today. Fifth overall for the day is awesome.” Delong, who was forced to miss the season’s first two rounds due to an injury, is in sixth place for class points. Robinson was eighth overall and is second in points for XC2. A new addition to the FAR Husqvarna team, Nick Davis took fourth place in XC2 and 11th place overall.

Pro rider Chris Bach turned in an impressive result as well. He took sixth place in XC1 Pro and ninth place overall. “I ran SI’s, and I chose a 120/90 rear instead of a 120/80. That gave me a little extra cushion in the rocks for more traction. The bike was great, and the tires were added suspension,” he said. “The course was brutal, absolutely brutal. It was super choppy, but the dirt was moist and tacky. It was rocky too, with square-edged, sharp rock, and there were two gnarly hill climbs.” Bach is ninth in class points.

Maxxis congratulates all of these riders on their fine performances.
