Beaubier Out of Sunday’s Daytona Sportbike Race

Y.E.S. Graves Yamaha’s Cameron Beaubier has had his return to racing cut short a day after finishing a distant third in Saturday’s Daytona Sportbike race at Infineon Raceway.
Beaubier, who was returning to the track after breaking his kneecap in a March scooter accident, made the decision to sit out today’s second DSB race after consulting with his team. It was decided that he’d be better off resting his knee, which was fractured five weeks ago. Tommy Hayden, who joined the team in place of the injured Garrett Gerloff at Daytona, will be the lone rider for the Y.E.S. Graves Yamaha team.
Beaubier is expected to be back for the next round of the championship at Miller Motorsports Park at the end of the month.
“Cameron’s got his entire career ahead of him, and we want to be careful with this,” team manager Keith McCarty said. “He felt a bit of fatigue during the latter part of the race yesterday, so the best plan of action at this point is for him to get some rest. He did a terrific job in the race, and we’re looking forward to his return to action at Miller.”
