Turpin Gets World Superbike Wild Card

Salt Lake City, Utah’s Shane Turpin will get to race at home after being granted a wild card ride for the World Superbike round at Miller Motorsports Park, May 26-28.
Turpin will be competing at his home circuit on a Boulder Motor Sports-prepared Ducati 1198R.
Turpin, who has been racing competitively since the 1990s, is a regular competitor in the Utah Sport Bike Association’s Masters of the Mountains series at Miller, and holds multiple number-one plates in that series as well as the Colorado-based MRA race series. He has also competed in AMA Pro Road Racing with top-10 finishes in both the Superbike and Supersport classes.
In addition to his vast racing experience, Turpin is also a riding instructor for the Yamaha Champions Riding School based at Miller Motorsports Park, which he credits for fine-tuning his riding technique.
“I am extremely excited and honored to have been accepted as a Wild Card entry in the FIM Superbike World Championship event at Miller Motorsports Park,” says Turpin. ” It’s my home track, where I’ve completed countless laps and have great track knowledge. I’ve been racing with the Boulder Motor Sports team for three years now, and I feel at home with the entire group. They’re a great team who continue to provide me with the expertise and equipment to ride my best. We began our testing back in late February and continue to make improvements in preparation for the Memorial Day event. I look forward to representing our sponsors, families, friends and my country.”
