Star/Valli Rockstar Yamaha’s Ryan Sipes will be out of action for up to six weeks, according to a posting on the Lites class rider’s Twitter page. Sipes says he crashed while practicing yesterday, suffering a broken hand and dislocated shoulder.

Sipes qualified second fastest at the Anaheim II Supercross on February 4, and went on to finish 11th in the West Lites main event. Prior to Anaheim, he finished fourth in Oakland, 12th in Los Angeles, suffered a DNQ in Phoenix and finished fifth at Anaheim I.

Sipes is currently ninth in the West Lites Supercross points standings.

The Star/Valli Rockstar Yamaha squad has struggled with injuries so far this season. Supercross-class rider Austin Stroupe and Ryan Morais have already been sidelined.
