Ian Hutchinson Injured Again

Eight-time Isle of Man TT winner Ian Hutchinson suffered a broken leg today while rehearsing for his part in the London Motorcycle Show.

According to reports from England, Hutchinson twisted his leg while riding an off-road bike at the Excel Arena. The leg is the same one he spent more than a year recovering from after crashing at Silverstone in 2010 – the injury, however, is said to be in a different spot than the original breaks.

Hutchinson has signed to race for the Swan Yamaha team for the 2012 season in the British Superbike Championship, the Isle of Man TT and the Ulster Grand Prix.

The 31-year-old Hutchinson underwent 16 operations to fix the badly broken tibia and fibia and was fitted with an external fixator. He returned to action in November, finishing third in the Macau Grand Prix.
