Chaz Davies Injured At Phillip Island

Phillip Island struck again today with non-defending World Supersport Champion Chaz Davies suffering what appears to be a broken wrist when he crashed out of the qualifying session in Australia.

Davies is out of Sunday’s two races after crashing his ParkinGo Aprilia at the end of the session. The Welshman had already gone quick enough to qualify for Superpole in his World Superbike debut.

Davies joins Leon Haslam, Eugene Laverty, John Hopkins and David Salom as riders who have suffered injury at the Island circuit in the last two weeks.

The next round of the series is April 1, giving Davies time to heal so he will likely only miss this weekend’s opener.
